How to change the DNS settings for my domain name
Important
Changing your DNS settings is an advanced feature. Incorrectly changing your domains DNS settings can cause your website and email to stop working. If you are not an advanced user or require any further assistance please raise a support enquiry before making any modifications. Simply tell our support team exactly what you want changing and we can guide you through making the changes.
Step 1
Once you have logged into your Online Control Panel, click Domain Names from the left hand menu
Step 2
Now click on the domain name you want to change the DNS for
Step 3
You now need to click on the 'DNS & Transfer options' link from the left hand menu
Step 4
If you have never made any changes in this section before you will need to read the warning on screen, and tick the confirmation box before continuing. Please read the information in the box carefully before clicking Activate.
Step 5
Once you have activated the advanced DNS section you will see the screen below. Here you are able to change your DNS records. If you are going to be pointing your domains A or MX records towards another hosting company you will need to follow any instructions they have given you carefully to avoid your website and/or email being offline. 
Note: For any DNS change you make it can take 24 - 72 hours for the changes to work correctly. This is due to DNS propagation - the time it takes for all of the other DNS servers on the Internet to realise that your domain name now points to a different location.
