With .uk domains, what is the difference between changing nameservers and changing the IPS Tag?

Article

When you change nameservers on a .uk domain name, you are not transferring the domain name away from the IPS Tag holder. You are simply changing the servers that control where your domain name points to.

Changing the IPS Tag completely transfers the domain name to another Tag holder. The IPS Tag holder has complete control over the domain name. These are the people who make nameserver changes and who you pay your 2-yearly renewal for the name to.

Therefore if your new provider's charges to renew the domain name are more expensive than ours, you can just change the name server information to point to your new provider and keep the domain on our IPS Tag.
