Adding a new hosting package

To create a new hosting package for a domain in your account, you need to click on the link to your Designer Hosting section.

You will then have an option in the left hand menu to Add Domain. Click here to setup a new hosting package for a domain name.

You will then be taken to the hosting configuration screen. Here, you can set the limits on the website package.

Here is a description of what each field in the configuration form means:

Platform

Choose from Windows or Linux.

Please Note:
We recommend that you only choose Windows as your hosting platform if the website you are going to upload is designed in FrontPage, uses MS Access or MSSQL databases, or runs ASP pages. In all other circumstances we highly recommend that you choose the Linux hosting option

Site Name The domain name that you are setting up the hosting for eg example.com
Web Space Quota Allocate up to 15000mb of space for web storage for this hosting package
Email Storage Quota Allocate up to 15000Mb of space for email storage for this hosting package
Bandwidth quota Allocate between 1 and 100GB of bandwidth allowance per month for this hosting package
POP Boxes Allocate pop3 mailboxes for this hosting package
Spam/virus filtering

Enable anti-spam and anti-virus measures at server level
Please Note:
This option should not replace any anti-spam and anti-virus solutions active on your local computer. You should always run your own anti-virus and anti-spam measures, and not rely on other services to provide them

FrontPage support If you are designing your site in FrontPage, this should be enabled to allow management of the FrontPage extensions
Web Tools enabled Allow access to the scripts provided for free under our Web Tools section
MySQL / MSSQL databases

Allocate up to 100 MySQL / MSSQL databases for this hosting package.
Please Note:If you do not require any databases, please enter 0 in this field

PHP

Enable PHP support for this hosting account.
Please Note:
If you wish to use any of the free scripts in the Web Tools section, then this will need to be enabled

Choose a password

Enter the password for this hosting package here. This password will be used for FTP/FrontPage http uploads, and the default pop3 account that is created

Please Note:
We highly recommend that you choose your passwords with care. Good passwords should contain a mix of upper/lowercase letter, numbers and punctuation. eg B14c<B3r&y, rather than plain text eg blackberry

Create DNS?

Ticking this option will create a DNS zone file for the domain name you are setting up on our nameservers. You should select this option if you wish to point your domain name to the hosting package you are setting up. Please note, the DNS changes will only be effective if the your domain is delegated to our name servers.

Once you have filled out all the options that you require, click on the button at the bottom of the form to create the hosting package.

The hosting package will be automatically created within 15 minutes. You will then receive an email to the primary contact email address on your account, containing all the login details to get you started. You may pass this information on to your client if they are going to be managing the site themselves.
