The address bar in the latest generation of web browsers including Firefox 3, Opera 8 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, will go green when presented with an Extended Validation (EV) SSL certificate.

Information about the organisation and its principal are manually vetted in accordance with guidelines defined by the CA/Browser Forum.

The Certificate Authority (CA) validate the organisation's information, verify the ownership of the domain name and contact the principal of the organisation.

Certificate requests must reflect the legal registered name of the business. Some basic requirements that a business needs to conform to obtain an EV SSL certificate include (but are not limited to): Legal status as a company created by government filing / Registration number of incorporation / Place of business is in same jurisdiction (e.g. country) as place of business registration / Organization name / Business name / Full address and main phone number of place of business

Full organisation authentication gives your website visitors a reliable way to establish trust, but without the green address bar. We recommend the QuickSSL Premium certificate to companies, organisations and individuals who are unable to obtain an extended validation or full organisation authentication SSL certificate.
