Maintaining comprehensive records of consent are a vital part of privacy compliance in general but are specifically required under the GDPR. These records should include a way of identifying the user, proof of consent, record of the consenting action and the legal documents available to the user at the time of consent, among other things. You can read about the full requirements here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Consent Database provides you with an API to<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Add, revoke, manage user consent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Store multiple preferences for each user (e.g., if you have multiple newsletters or opt-ins)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Store whether a user was verified with double opt-in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Store additional information about the user, allowing you to identify him\/her in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For each consent, track the legal or privacy notice the user has accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For each consent, track the form\/wording the user was prompted with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flexibly upload any form of proof of consent or legal notice, including a PDF if consent was collected on paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For each user, get the latest preferences and which consent action is the proof of consent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For each user, get the history of consents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Follow these steps to store consent proofs with our Consent Database<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, ensure you are logged into your Online Compliance dashboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please then click on the \u2018Configure<\/strong>\u2019 button located under the section for Consent Solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the new page has loaded you will see four sections and you will be looking for the one listed as \u2018Consent Database\u2019, once located please click on \u2018Activate now<\/strong>\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
