{"id":82,"date":"2021-03-02T11:10:31","date_gmt":"2021-03-02T11:10:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.register365.com\/support\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=82"},"modified":"2021-04-20T18:21:43","modified_gmt":"2021-04-20T17:21:43","slug":"using-the-file-manager","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.register365.com\/support\/articles\/using-the-file-manager\/","title":{"rendered":"Using the File Manager"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>If you have one of our Apache Hosting packages and wish to upload just a few files to your website, or don&#8217;t have any FTP software installed on your computer, you may want to consider using the File Manager tool in your Control Panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once logged into your Control Panel, click on your domain (if you have more than one), and look for the&nbsp;<em>Hosting Settings<\/em>&nbsp;drop-down menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oursupportcentre.com\/Hosting-Settings.JPG\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Choose the option called&nbsp;<em>File Manager<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oursupportcentre.com\/File-Manager.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This will take you to a screen that looks like this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oursupportcentre.com\/File-Manager2.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Any files that you want to be viewable on your website need to be located within the folder called&nbsp;<em>web<\/em>. Clicking on that folder will take you into it to display the various files in there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are five icons going along the top of the File Manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oursupportcentre.com\/File-Manager3.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to upload a file, you click on the icon labelled&nbsp;<em>Upload a file<\/em>&nbsp;and then select the file from your computer that you wish to upload.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-nco-info-block\"><p class=\"nco-info-block-content\"><strong>Info:<\/strong> The home page of your website should always be called &#8220;index.html&#8221;, or &#8220;index.php&#8221; if it is coded in PHP.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>To delete a file, you tick the box located to the right of the file and then click on the orange cross icon at the top to delete it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you have one of our Apache Hosting packages and wish to upload just a few files to your website, or don&#8217;t have any FTP software installed on your computer, you may want to consider using the File Manager tool in your Control Panel.
