How to register a .ie domain name – large business

Are you a registered company in Ireland?

If you have registered your business with the Companies Registration Office in Ireland (https://www.cro.ie/) then getting your .ie domain name is really easy. An Incorporated Company in Ireland can register any domain name, it doesn’t need to reflect your corporate name and you can register as many domain names as you want.

Requirements:

  • A Company applying under this category only needs to include their company number as part of the application.

Are you an overseas registered company?

If you’re not an Irish / Northern Irish registered company, you may still be able to register a .ie domain name if you can prove you sell goods or services to consumers or businesses in the island of Ireland. Once you have proved your eligibility then you can again register any domain name, it doesn’t need to reflect your corporate name and you can register as many different domain names as you want.

Requirements:

  • If the company is incorporated outside of Ireland, specifically UK or US, the company number must be included in the application and additional evidence that you sell goods or services to consumers or businesses in the island of Ireland.
  • All applicants from any other country must submit a copy of the company’s certificate of incorporation and evidence of trade with Ireland.
