How do I backup and restore MSSQL databases?

3*3*3*3*3*

Article

We provide the popular "mylittlebackup" and "mylittleadmin" tools for you to administer and maintain your MSSQL databases. Below we detail the locations you can find these tools for the platform you are being hosted on.

Note: We do not permit access to the MSSQL servers via SQL Server Management Studio

We suggest that if you are restoring a database that has been created on another server, that you check the following before you take the backup

  • ensure the database is not in single user mode

  • check that an account with the same name as the one you have created on the hosting environment, has access to the database being backed up.

  • ensure that you are restoring a database that is compatible with the server you are restoring to.

Note: The size of files that can be uploaded to the backup utility is restricted to 100MB.
