1. Describe the concept, get a working app
A single prompt generated the foundation of the app — ingredient search, category filters for proteins, vegetables, dairy and pantry staples, plus a recipe results page filled with dishes you can make that evening.
2. Make the results more useful
Recipes were sorted by the number of additional ingredients required, with each recipe card clearly highlighting anything you don't already have.
3. Swap emojis for proper icons
Every emoji was replaced with carefully chosen illustrated icons for each ingredient category, creating a cleaner, more polished and consistent interface.
4. Add warmth to the design
A cream-toned background, subtle borders, rounded category chips and welcoming empty states gave the app the feel of a familiar kitchen rather than a generic tool.
